Taupo is still the north islands favourite for investors!
As we reflect over the past few years in the Taupo region we cannot help but marvel at the continuing strength of our local Real Estate market. While many parts of New Zealand have enjoyed buoyant times along with slower periods, it seems that many buyers are still discovering the wonders of our area and are showing a staunch confidence in the area's future by investing and moving here. Harveys have also seen a strong demand for holiday homes for purchasers to either enjoy for themselves or rent out to the droves of visitors that head into the town for the many events that are held in Taupo throughout the year.
The decision to hold New Zealand's first A1 Grand Prix in Taupo, plus the world sanctioned Ironman event are prime examples of the confidence that astute sports and business investors are placing in the area and all that it offers. Many major national and international events are already booked on promoters calendars well into the future.
Kinloch:
The decision by Jack Nicklaus to build his Signature Golf Course in Kinloch has contributed to a growing awareness of our small but special Village.
Combined with the Links course (under construction), and the existing public golf course, it provides a haven for golfers of all standards.
The new Marina and launch facilities are the best in the region, giving quick, easy and safe access to the Lake and the fishing of the Western Bays.
New land development, offers the opportunity to invest in generously sized sections to build your new home for either holiday or permanent living, or purchase a pre-built home.
Alternatively, you can invest in the older area, and secure an enviable lake access location for the future.
Kinloch gives easy access via the Western Bays Highway to the Central Plateau and Ski fields.
Kinloch provides a peaceful and relaxing environment, but is close enough to Taupo when more action is required.
Population:
The district population is 33,900 residents with 22,100 in Taupo Town (estimated 2005) and 11,800 in the surrounding areas. The population swells to an estimated 60,000 people in peak holiday periods particularly in January.
Employment:
Tourism is the biggest industry and brings in over $395 million to the district per year. Tourism provides 21% of all jobs. Forestry and associated industry is also a major source of employment in the area. Unemployment is very low and sat below 1% in 2005.

The Future:
Naturally none of us know the future values of the Real Estate market, however we know that the Taupo area is one of the most sought after regions in New Zealand and the market has remained steady and buoyant in comparison with other provincial towns and cities. Harveys Taupo office has been the TOP OFFICE within the Harvey network for most of the 9 years we have been in business, and a contributing factor in that achievement has been the consistency of the local Real Estate market.
There is little doubt that Taupo will continue to thrive and grow, as it is one of the country's most spectacular and economically sound areas of New Zealand. From summer through to winter our sales graphs illustrate year round activity, unlike many of the major cities which experience fluctuations as their inhabitants flock to national holiday destinations such as Taupo during the many long weekends and regular school holiday breaks.
COME HERE TO VISIT….LIVE PERMANENTLY….OR JUST HAVE A HOLIDAY….IT DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER!
